Hi there!

I’m Kate, quilt pattern designer, scrap enthusiast, and firm believer that the fabric you already own is more than enough to create something beautiful. I believe quilting should feel joyful — not overwhelming. My patterns are designed to help you confidently use the fabric you already have so you can finish more quilts and enjoy the process.

I come from a long line of creative souls, so becoming a maker was almost inevitable. Mine just happens to involve a rotary cutter, plenty of thread, and a deep love for turning overlooked fabric into meaningful quilts. But I didn’t start confident. My very first quilt top sat unfinished in a box for six years.

I was afraid I’d ruin it. I didn’t have a longarm, and binding felt intimidating.

So I waited…

Eventually, I realized something many quilters quietly struggle with: Perfection is the fastest way to stall your creativity.

Once I let go of that pressure and started sewing again, everything changed. Now I design patterns to help you skip the hesitation, build your confidence and get straight to the joy of making.

Why Stash-Friendly?

Living in Maine teaches you to be resourceful — and quilting is no different. Every Seamingly Kate pattern is designed with real quilters in mind:

  • Stash-friendly — use what you already have

  • Scrap-happy — perfect for those too-good-to-toss pieces

  • Math-light — because you'd rather be stitching than calculating

My goal is simple:

👉 Help you turn forgotten fabric into quilts with stories.

What You’ll Find Here:

  • Patterns that feel approachable but never boring.

  • Guidance that builds confidence without perfectionism.

  • And permission to experiment, make mistakes, and enjoy the process.

Because quilts aren’t meant to live unfinished in closets. They belong on beds, couches, walls — and in the hands of the people we love. So pull from your stash. Start before you feel ready. And trust that you know more than you think you do, because I’ll show you the way.

Confident quilting starts here.
